Don't forget about my Component Selection page to help with basic questions about rod building.
I removed the store from my site. While I enjoyed building production type rods, I wanted to move my focus towards purpose-built rods. I personally believe the definition of a custom rod isn't just fancy decorative wraps or unique embellishments. It can simply be your favorite type of rod, but maybe a specific blank color, reel seat type, handle material, etc. Whether you fish from a kayak, ice fish for sturgeon, or hike into remote mountain lakes; there's a good chance that you can't find exactly what you're looking for from a big box store. I can help bridge that gap. Obviously, if decorative wraps or bling are what you're looking for, I can do that as well.
Prices of individual rods is completely dependent on the cost of materials and the time it takes to build. I do not assemble kits. Components are specifically matched to every build. Blanks are typically higher end. Afterall, it takes the same amount of time for me to build on a $100 dollar blank as it does a $200 dollar blank. The only cost difference is the blank itself. Many times, a build using the same blank as some production rods will come in costing less than its production counterpart.
I ship rods all over the country. However, I try my best to keep my business within the shipping company of Spee-Dee Delivery. Their costs are lower than other shipping companies and I've had good luck with rods arriving in the same condition they were shipped. I know many great builders across the country. I'm more than happy to recommend another builder who may be close enough to drive to.
